May’s Point Engagement Session | Boulder, Colorado | Mary + Andrew
May’s Point is a beautiful location for an engagement session!
Let’s just say I am the queen of spontaneity and impulsivity. I knew Boulder was getting blasted with snow, and I really felt like hiking a mountain covered in snow. I called my friend and asked her if she wanted to go climb a 14er with me in Colorado. Of course, she said yes, so off we went. We left on a Thursday night and drove 16 hours to Boulder from Wisconsin. The plan was to arrive Friday morning, climb a 14er on Saturday, and drive 16 hours back on Saturday night.
Mary and Andrew live in Boulder, Colorado. They hired me to shoot their wedding in the northern woods of Wisconsin. I figured that since I was already going to be in Boulder, I’d ask Mary and Andrew if they were free on Friday evening. Things just worked out and we ended up shooting their engagement session at May’s Point that evening.
The mountains as seen from Boulder were all covered in snow and beautiful. I shot this engagement session on a second wind after 0 hours of sleep, and every second was worth being awake for. I am so glad I was able to get out there to meet Andrew and Mary. Both of them are so much fun to photograph, and they both love the outdoors. They took me to their fav local vegan joint after the shoot and we smashed some Orange Soy Chicken.
The day after the shoot we did end up going to climb that 14er without nearly enough sleep or food, however, it was perfect. I’m all about doing random shit last minute, and this little road trip was just what I needed.
If you love the outdoors and hiking, I’d love to work with you! Click here to book with me.
