Downtown Chicago Wedding | Chicago, Illinois | Derek + Chloe
Downtown Chicago is a trip.
I am by no means a city girl. I live in Milwaukee, but am definitely not bred for the hustle and bustle. However, I LOVE photographing in big cities, like this downtown Chicago wedding. Every corner you turn, there’s something new.
Derek and Chloe both live in Chicago, and Chloe grew up there. She wanted photos that told the underlying story of the neighborhood she grew up in. We incorporated the streets she drove on, the bus stops, murals, and whatever else screamed Portage Park. We also took the 45 minute traffic ridden ride down to Millennial Park, where Derek proposed to Chloe. Be warned that no matter what it says on google, you need a photography permit to photograph professional wedding pictures down there. We also made use of the time stuck in traffic. Derek and Chloe would stick their heads out of the windows of their limo and we got some fun shots like that with me in the car behind them. Warning: cars in Chicago are merciless. They will ALL lay their horns down for literally 20 minutes straight when they see a bride and groom.
Derek and Chloe are yet another example of a couple who trusted me. They gave me their vision and I rolled with it. As a wedding photographer, I want to feel trusted. I want you to hire me because you absolutely love the photographs I take. I want you to show up on your wedding day fully confident that I’m going to do my job. I’m going to add my creativity to your vision to achieve something different and beautiful for you specifically.
